How to Discover Winning Products by Researching Ads

When you open an ad, don’t just watch the video or image—go further to break down the details. Each piece can help you find a winning product to sell.

Ad Copy

  • Look for emotional language to signal a strong audience targeting. ("Nanay," "baby," "mommy moments" = family/motherhood niche). These can provide subcategorization or ad targeting insights.
  • A direct CTA ("Order now") shows that the seller is pushing hard for conversion, not just brand awareness. Brand-awareness CTAs are often more inviting to explore, such as "Learn More".

Title & Format

  • Does the title reinforce the value prop? If the title speaks to the value instead of features, that’s often a sign of a researched positioning that is resonating.
  • Format used also often shows strong performance. Because video ads are more expensive to produce, repeated video ads suggest investment and performance.

Call to Action & Landing Page

  • The CTA and landing pages also reveal the funnel. If you see a CTA like "Order now" paired with a landing page of fb.com, that indicates a lower-barrier funnel. Sellers may be A/B testing at this stage to assess if people convert directly from platform-hosted shops.

Platforms

  • If an ad is running on a multi-platform strategy (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger simultaneously), that shows cross-platform scaling—usually an indication of advertiser confidence in product performance.

Tactical takeaway

A family-focused product (like calming oil) running multi-platform video ads with emotional copy and a strong CTA is highly likely to be converting. Shortlist and test something similar in your own market, as this is likely a winning product!
